SCABBARD (CZ)
Scabbard were on the scene from 1992 to 2001. During that time they released three demos and two CD´s. They have appeared at many concerts not only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Fans could see them alongside legends such as Cannibal Corpse or Sinister, and on tour they joined the cult bands Vader and Destruction. A full-fledged resurrection occurs in 2018. Since then, they have been having a blast. 2020 saw the re-release of all previous albums and demos on Awakening Records, along with worldwide distribution. On top of that, they have added two more full length CDs, the last of which, "Human Puppets", will be released in May 2022, under Pařát Productions. The band continues to crush death-thrash and they don't intend to deviate an inch from that path.
THE CORONA LANTERN (CZ)
Originally a studio project. They became a full band in 2015 after two singles and a spontaneous debut album "Consuming the Tempest". To this day, this dark post-metal/house outfit has released two full-length albums and five singles, two of which even lyrically explore the band's native language. Their last album, 2020's "Certa Omnibus Hora", released under the Metalgate banner, achieved a number of positive reviews, confirming their firm place in the Czech mood-forming scene. The latest single "Poryvy" from summer 2022 captures the band at their most current expression, with a heavy dose of black metal influence and singer Dahlien's unabashedly authentic vocals, but still in their traditional brooding guise. The year 2023 will be marked by work on album number three.
